I get quite a few questions about the name behind Modern Moxie. I was first introduced to the term ‘moxie’ while participating in a corporate women’s group and it stuck. The vibe, the definition, the feeling it evokes was everything I wanted to be known for and for my brand to represent. The word itself is actually a bit retro, so adding the word ‘modern’ in front of it showcases our focus on innovative techniques, methods and ideas. This is especially important because, while I believe there are certain foundations of marketing principles that don’t change, the tactics we use in digital marketing feel like they change almost daily.
At our core, Modern Moxie is about helping our customers get the most out of their marketing efforts using up-to-date techniques, methods and ideas combined with the know-how, energy, and determination to help our clients achieve their goals.

Simply put, we help our clients get more out of their marketing efforts through consulting and freelance partnerships. With over 14 years of experience as a marketing + communications professional and experience in Fortune 500 corporate marketing, agency marketing, traditional marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, B2B-focused marketing, B2C-focused marketing, and leading everything from strategy to actual deployment of tactics, I’ve seen a lot of ways to do marketing. Who do I work with?
I work with small- to medium-sized businesses who are ready to do more with their marketing efforts. Perhaps because of my background, many of my clients have tended to be in the financial industry + nonprofit sectors, but I have worked with retail clients, technology companies, interior designers, personal brand & style consultants and more. I work with clients as an extension of their team either through consulting services or as a freelance partner. And because I run my own business, I have the freedom and flexibility to work with clients in the way that works best for them—hourly, by project or on retainer.
